Facebook has sent around "memories" of years past and it shocked me the other day to get a memory of the artwork I wanted to use on this book--two years ago.
So my question: when can I feel ready to push this baby out of the nest? Well, this is it. I found one person who writes similar novels to read it for me as a beta reader--hoping to find several. Her books get good reviews so I believe she will do a good job. I'll name names later if it works out. Later I will return the favor if she wants.
Then it's on to finding reviewers and ways to spread the word that Martha's Sister Beloved Prodigal exists for those who will enjoy it.
Only one problem. It's impssible to crawl under the desk in a fetal position when you have so much to do.
Will people hate it? Will they give it a chance? There is at least one reviewer who gets great joy from giving one star reviews and annihilating the hard work of writers. Can I look forward to that?
Why am I scared?
